Keyword research is the all-important scaffold of any successful internet marketing campaign. If you have the right keywords, you’ll be able to get the right kind of person to your website. The wrong keywords will either be too competitive to realistically get traffic, or you’ll attract the wrong kind of person.

Here are a few keyword research tips to help find the optimal keywords for your business.

Know Your One to Two Year Keyword Targets

While it’s important to do your keyword research for what you want to target immediately, it’s even more crucial that you know what you want to be targeting six months, one year or two years from now.

The tough keywords don’t happen get ranked overnight. Instead, you need months and months of concerted effort to hit the top.

While you’re working on the easier keywords, also spend some time working on the harder ones. In time, long-term thinking pays off.

Research Different Base Keywords

Try to research as many different “base” keywords as possible. A base keyword is a keyword that has a unique set of words.

For example, if you’re in the weight loss industry, “lose weight” and “burn fat” are different base keywords. On the other hand, “burn fat quickly” or “burn belly fat” are subsets of the “burn fat” base keyword.

Try to research as many base keywords as possible. Especially try to dig up uncommon ones or overlooked ones. The competition within a base keyword, among its longtail keywords tends not to vary too much. However, the competition between base keywords can vary a lot.

There could be much, much more competition for “lose weight” than “look slimmer.” Try and find lower competition base keywords, rather than just drilling deep.

Competitive Research

Competitive research is a huge part of determining whether or not a keyword is worth pursuing. The goal of keyword research is to find keywords that have high enough volume to be worth it, without too much competition.

In SEO, assessing the competition involves gauging a number of factors. These include the number of backlinks your competitors have, their PageRank, when the site was founded, the number of pages on the site, how many exact match anchor texts are pointing back to their site and their current rankings.

In PPC, evaluating your competition involves using spy software like SpyFu or KeywordSpy to see what kind of keywords and ads they’re using, as well as what they’re likely paying.

If you start with your long-term keyword goals then work your way back, explore a wide array of different keyword bases and do your competitive research to figure out where you’re most likely to win, then you’ll have a very good chance of overtaking your competition.

It might be natural to think that internet marketing is actually the same thing as global internet marketing since you can access web content from all over the world. But if you’ve decided to market your products or services internationally, you will have to do it in a way that offers the best site and most appropriate message to your various audiences.

Among other things, this involves choosing the right language and interface for your users’ locations while taking into account the multitude of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) factors for a global marketing campaign. As many of you are aware, the internet enables less expensive and efficient online international distribution options for media products and informational types of products. Software companies are the most obvious examples of those that can save by distributing their products online all over the world.

When it comes to SEO, one of the most important technical decisions you need to make before getting started with your global Internet marketing campaign is how to manage the many international domains. What you decide doesn’t just potentially affect your rankings, but also how well you will be able to manage each of your sites and even how much you end up investing in this marketing endeavor.

There are two options when it comes to launching websites in different countries. First, you can host all of the different language variations on one site and separate the languages by subdomains or subdirectories. The second option is to create a separate site for each language you are targeting.

If you choose the first option, you will probably have greater centralized control when it comes to the site’s management and better SEO because all of the links will be coming in to one singular domain. This method can also be more effective when it comes to suppressing the possibility of duplicate content in the search engines.

If you go with the second option, you will probably spend less. You can start with one site and then add others one by one if you feel it is feasible. Contrary to the first option, by having multiple sites, you will rank better in the country-specific search engines. Because using this method allows you to set up country specific hosting, you can target your SEO efforts to specific countries. It often makes sense to host your site in the country being targeted.

Another important concept to understand at the onset of your global internet marketing campaign is that you can’t do your keyword research in English and just translate to your target markets’ languages in order to be successful. You need to do extensive keyword research in the language of the market you are targeting.

The best case scenario would be to have a native speaker supervise or do the keyword research. The very least you should do is to use a foreign language/English dictionary that includes idiomatic expressions and is as local to the target market as possible.

It’s not really news, but it’s the truth, the state of the economy isn’t as good as it could be. This has, unfortunately, caused a lot of people to lose their primary source of income, or has led to a cut in their pay. Historically, this has made for an increase in people starting their own home business. The good news is that the internet has put this dream within reach of more people than ever before. Internet marketing is the umbrella term applied to the practice of advertising an online business.

Starting your own online business is a great way to start earning more money. Regardless of your circumstances, there is a low cost to getting started. In fact, there are ways you can get started for free, or for very little money. Traditional businesses can cost $1,000; $10,000; $100,000 or more to get started. That’s fine if you can afford it, but as mentioned earlier, most people today are not in the kind of financial position to spend that kind of money. Either way, internet marketing is a vital part of running a successful online business.

To be sure, internet marketing covers a lot of different things, but they all come back to getting the word out. The precise methods available are not as important as how they are used; meaning the principles behind them are what counts.

When it comes to internet marketing, the first thing you have to do is know who you are marketing to. The better you understand who your audience is, the more you stand to make. You can have more than one market, but know that each one stands on its own. For example, you can sell office chairs to people who work for Fortune 500 companies and you can sell them to people who work at home. The chairs may be the same, but how you approach each market will vary.

The internet is relatively new in the bigger scope of things. You can use this to your advantage. What it means is that a lot of well-established businesses are still trying to figure out how best to use it, too. In other words, you can compete directly with the biggest companies in the world, do it at a very low cost, and do better than they are.

Of course, this depends on several different factors, but it is possible. There are all kinds of internet marketers making a comfortable living online. All it takes is learning the right way to do things, then applying what you learn.

If you are thinking of making money from home (whether for fun or out of necessity) then internet marketing needs to be a part of your plan. The learning curve is fairly easy, the risks are low, and the potential pay offs are high. However, it is up to you to take action and follow through. Once you start seeing the results, you will be glad you did.

Making money as an affiliate marketer by promoting products from Clickbank can be a very profitable business. There are a number of different ways to successfully promote Clickbank products, some are easier than others, some are free while others require some capital. This article will discuss the top four methods for promoting affiliate products and making a great income with Clickbank.

1. Article Marketing

Article marketing is one of the most popular methods for promoting affiliate products. It is easy and it is free which are two of the reasons for it’s popularity.

With article marketing, you write articles based around your chosen keyword phrases that relate to the product you are promoting. Then you submit those articles to article directories to be published on those directories. You will include a link to your website, where you promote the affiliate product, in the resource box of the article.

By submitting articles with a link to your website you are getting more exposure to your website through those visitors that read your article. Some article directories will allow you to link directly to the product you are promoting, while others will not let you link directly to an affiliate product so you will link to your own website.

2. Search Engine Optimization

Search Engine Optimization is a great way to earn money long term with affiliate marketing. With Search Engine Optimization or SEO the idea is to set up your website so it is optimized for the search engines which will help you to get a higher ranking.

If you can get your website ranking high in the search engines then you will get a lot of free traffic that you can then promote your affiliate products to.

Good SEO can take a bit of practice and you need to learn this skill well to be successful with it. If you do learn SEO and set up your site so it is highly optimized the results will pay off for long term success.

3. Pay Per Click

Pay per click is one of the very popular methods to promote affiliate products used by the ‘super’ affiliates. This method is not so popular for those starting out and who are on a limited budget. PPC can be quite expensive and if you don’t set up your campaign correctly then it could cost you a lot of money.

Pay per click does require some investment to get started but if done right that investment can pay off nicely. PPC is all about finding the right keywords that you can get a lot of clicks through to your website without paying a high price to get those clicks. PPC can involve a lot of trial and error before you find the right keywords and offers that pay off well.

You can often lose money when first starting out with PPC but if you keep trying and tweaking your campaigns it can be very profitable long term.

4. Forum and Blog Commenting

Forum and blog commenting is also a very popular way to make money with Clickbank. Some people get this wrong by spamming forums and blogs and they will soon get banned from those forums. When using forum and blog commenting you need to be professional and make informative posts and comments.

With forums, when you become an active member of the forum and leave informative posts, you will be able to put a link to your website in your signature. If you are making short, spamming posts then you will get banned or not be allowed to have a link in your signature.

The most important point to remember with both forum posting and blog commenting is to be helpful and contribute to the posts.
These are the four most popular methods used to promote and dominate Clickbank products. You can try all of these methods or just one and see which method you prefer. If you find a method that works for you then duplicate what you are doing and you can increase your Clickbank income until you are making the sort of money you dream of making.

More and more people want to work from home. And many of you are ending your search with online jobs that generally pay a relatively low wage or salary in exchange for the benefits you receive by working out of the comfort of your own home. When it comes to considering a better income with an actual home business, many of you are intimidated and cautious. How much money do you need to invest? How much technical and/or marketing knowledge do you need? How can you distinguish the scams from the legitimate methods to make money from online business opportunities?

These are all valid concerns and need to be adressed. But the freedome and financial rewards that you can have with an online business, as opposed to working an online job, definitely make it worth your while to at least consider these options.

1. Start a business that sells your expertise. Are you a good writer or designer? Do you have a flair for cooking? Do you love gardening? Do you know a lot about a specific subject? Do your friends and family come to you for advice about certain things? Could you turn your knowledge into a consulting business?

Do some soul searching and think about what you are good at and passionate about. Once you’ve figured that out, do some research on who would want and need your product/service. You’ll then want to set up your own website or blog based on what you’re selling and target it towards who you’re selling it to. Don’t be intimidated by this step! Creating your own site is extremely easy these days and it doesn’t have to be expensive. The next step is to get traffic to your site. And this is a topic for a whole other article because there are so many ways to do this, and many of them are free.

2. If you don’t feel comfortable coming up with your own products or services to market, you can make money from online business products or services that belong to other people. One way to do this is through affiliate marketing.

There are many places you can start to look for things to market, but the most popular sites are ClickBank and Commission Junction. Anytime you make a sale on the products you promote, you are paid commissions. Network Marketing is another route to go if you don’t have your own merchandise.

There are hundreds of Network Marketing companies to choose from and they offer all kinds of products and services. With network marketing, you pay a relatively low fee (this varies from company to company) to get started and then you earn commissions on products/services that you sell as well as on the people you recruit into the company as part of your sales team. The right type of “coaching” mentality is required if you do want to get into network marketing since much of your success will depend on how well you can lead your team.

There are so many ways to make money from online business endeavors – pick one that suits your personality best and get started!

For people who are just starting out as webmasters, figuring out how to choose a web hosting provider isn’t always easy. There is a lot of conflicting information on the internet, and there are dozens of hosting providers (if not hundreds) from which webmasters can select. It can be difficult to navigate through all of the information out there to try to determine what, exactly, is important in choosing a web host. So, here is some basic information about web hosting for beginners.

To begin with, there are two basic types of web hosting from which webmasters can choose–shared hosting and dedicated hosting. For most people, shared hosting plans will suffice. These hosting plans are generally reasonably priced, starting at around $5 to $15 per month. With shared hosting, the servers of the host are shared among all of the hosts clients. This means that all of the host’s resources are also shared. This is not typically an issue for most people; however, if your website has specific configuration requirements, a shared server may not be adequate for your site.

The other types of web hosting is called dedicated hosting. With this type of host, your website will have a server dedicated specifically for your site–no other websites will be hosted on your server. Obviously, this type of hosting is a great deal more expensive than shared hosting, due to the fact that the hosting provider must keep the server only for your use. These hosting plans can cost $100 per month or more.

After you have decided which type of web hosting your website needs, you will have some other decisions to make about your web hosting. Here is some more basic information about web hosting for beginners to help you out with those decisions.

Many web hosting providers offer very attractive packages that seem quite tempting. These packages may include “unlimited” amounts of disk space or bandwidth or domain names or email addresses–or even “unlimited” amounts of all of these. Sounds like an amazing deal, doesn’t it? Well, doesn’t it also sound too good to be true? Think about it…how could any web hosting company possibly afford to offer “unlimited” anything to all of its customers? They couldn’t. The likelihood of that really happening is the same as the likelihood of you being able to buy a hard drive for your computer that contains “unlimited” space. The lesson here–beware of hosting plans that offer deals that are TOO amazing.

When choosing your web host, the main idea should be to avoid the extremes. Stay away from the cheapest (and free) web hosts, as well as the most expensive hosts. Avoid the hosting providers that try to offer anything that sounds like it is too good; also avoid providers that are not offering enough. By sticking to web hosts that are of average price and that offer good, basic services, you will find that you can generally get good hosting and service.

Hi folks, Bren O’Hara here, and I just wanted to comment on the latest product we added for members: Sales Letter Secrets

You can view the full sales page by Clicking Here

Now being a product creator myself, and a budding copywriter, I have to say that this is a first class product. I’ve purchased a ton of courses over the years all on the topic of copywriting, or sales copy, and perhaps this course isn’t as in-depth as the courses I have in my arsenal, but this is pretty decent!

The first time I was ever asked to write a sales letter was back in 2008. I had completely written the MRR sales page from scratch, and I suppose it caught the attention of a few. That first sales letter seemed to take me down a path of copywriting, and I eventually started charging $197 per sales page. Don’t get me wrong, to some $197 may sound like a lot of money, but it’s peanuts when you compare it to the masters, we are talking tens of thousands of dollars!

I’ve said it, and I will say it again, as a marketer it is so important to keep your options open, far too many marketers are one dimensional these days, although you need to be a little careful of not overwhelming yourself with far too many projects. But if you can master the art of sales copy then it could turn into some rather decent income!

Check it out, it’s inside the members area,

Being an entrepreneur isn’t easy. Have you got what it takes to really make it on your own? Here are some of the most important attributes an entrepreneur needs to possess in order to succeed.

=> Ability to Listen to Advice, While Making Your Own Decisions

An entrepreneur needs to be able to listen to people who have more experience, from their peers and from their customers. An entrepreneur needs to fully and deeply understand their market, their customers, their current situation, their problems and their potential solutions.

That said, no matter how much experience your advisors have, you ultimately have to be the one to make the decision. An entrepreneur must be willing to call their own shots, sometimes even if it goes against what their advisors with more experience suggest – if that’s what your gut tells you to do.

=> Honed Instincts You Can Trust, Especially with People and Deals

A business person needs to be able to trust their instincts. The two most important instincts they need to possess and be able to rely on are their instincts about people and about business deals.

Ever get the sense that you just can’t trust someone? Or the sense that you genuinely want to do business with someone? Do you trust these instincts?

When a business proposition is presented to you, do you have a strong internal compass that tells you “yes” or “no”? Can you trust these gut instincts?

The best business decisions are not made just on numbers and projections. Although those are important, the real decision often comes down to whether or not your instincts tell you go forward. Your instincts will usually be right.

=> An Orientation towards Action

Great entrepreneurs are action oriented. “Ready, fire, aim” rather than “ready, aim, fire.”

Instead of spending two years writing a business plan and conducting market research, a real entrepreneur just goes for it. They take the results they get from the real world, rework their plan in real time and keep moving forward.

MBA-types who study businesses hypothetically without actually building businesses tend to think about business a lot. Entrepreneurs on the other hand are much more apt to just do something and see what the results are.

In order to really create results in the world, you’ve got to be strongly action oriented.

=> Be Willing to Take Risks, Sometimes Really Big Risks

Are you willing to risk everything you have on your ideas? Sometimes that’s what’s really necessary in order to get your venture launched off the ground.

Many entrepreneurs have had to sell their homes to fund their businesses. Some have had to leverage enough of their corporate equity that they’d lose control of their own company if anything went wrong, in order to fund the next stage of their growth.

To really succeed in running your own business, you’ve got to be willing to take risks. Sometimes those risks will feel humongous, but you’ve got to be willing to take them anyway.

These are some of the most important aspects of succeeding as an entrepreneur. Do you have what it takes? If you think the answer is yes, then you’ve got an incredibly exciting and potentially highly lucrative career ahead of you.

Webmasters often create websites using just their own sense of what users will want, and end up creating something that just isn’t very intuitive to use. On the other hand, webmasters who take the time to really optimize their websites for better user experience often find they’re well rewarded, in both customer loyalty and revenues.

How do you optimize a website for the best customer experience?

=> Cut Down the Choices Per Page

If you can have just one choice per page, that’s best.

Make it clear to your users what they should be doing on any given page. Often times a user comes to your website with just one goal in mind. Make it easy for them to achieve that goal.

If your site needs multiple steps, then cut those steps down as much as possible. Airbnb is a great example of this. Before they created their site, they told themselves that one requirement for launching the site is that the customer needed to be able to get from landing on their page to booking a room in three steps or less.

Today they’re the largest self-serve short-term rental website, in no small part due to the ease of use of their website.

Cut down the choices per page. Make it easy for users to do what they want to do. If you have a multi-step process, cut down the steps as much as possible.

=> Watch People Use Your Website

Have your boy/girlfriend, grandpa, best friend or work associate used your website? Watch how they use it.

Where do they click first? Where do they get frustrated? What do they like? At what page do they exit?

You can learn a lot by watching real human beings interact with your site. It’s more work, but it’s worth doing at least a few times with every new design.

=> Create Metrics and Test

Let’s say you’re thinking about splitting up your longer articles into multiple pages. You want to see if users like this style better or the one giant long page style.

Instead of guessing, why not come up with a metric and split test it? One metric for this kind of test might be the length of time someone stays on the page. If they stay longer on one than the other, that means they’re reading for longer.

Instead of guessing what your users want, come up with metrics that can measure it and split test it.

Optimizing your user experience is a very high leverage activity. Start by designing with as few options and steps as possible. Then get people you know to use your website and watch how they do it. Finally, create metrics for different versions of your site and split test them to see the results.

Should you still be doing your own social media marketing, or is it time to hand it off to someone else? There are many factors that go into whether or not you can hand off your social media. Here are some of the things to consider when you’re weighing your decision.

=> Is Your Social Marketing Personality Driven or Process Driven?

Is your social media primarily driven by you and your personality, or is it primarily driven by processes?

One example of personality-driven social media marketing is a comedian. In his case, it’d be very hard to outsource his social media, because he has such a unique voice. Finding someone who could emulate his voice enough to still build an audience would be very tough.

An example of process-driven social media marketing might be an artist or band. The primary jobs in managing their social media is responding to friend requests, deciding which gigs to take and updating the event listings. This is something that could easily be handed off to someone else.

When you’re deciding whether or not it’s time to hand off your social marketing, one crucial question you need to ask yourself is whether or not you can hand it off without losing your voice.

=> How Much Time Is It Taking?

If social media marketing is sucking up all your time and detracting from other areas of business that actually generate income, then it may be time to seriously start looking for ways to outsource it.

If you’re constantly checking Twitter, Facebook and MySpace for updates, chances are it’s becoming more of a distraction than a profitable business activity. In fact, if you spend more than ninety minutes on it per day, you should really think about getting that activity off your plate.

=> Who Can You Outsource To?

This is really the all-important question. If you’re not doing your social media marketing, who is?

Do you hand it off to someone in India for $3 an hour? Or do you hand it off to someone on your staff who really understands the spirit of your company?

Again, the issue really comes down to how important the voice is. If people come to your social network pages expecting to get constant updates from your unique voice, then you really need to carefully select your social media managers.

If managing your social media is mostly technical, then you can hire anyone with the capability to do it.

In short, it is absolutely worth thinking about outsourcing your social media marketing when it gets to the point that it’s distracting from other more productive activities. Put special attention on what your visitors expect when they visit your pages and who can actually replace you from a voice and brand perspective.
